check blanksCheck blanks, also referred to as blank checks, are generally used in laser printers. Check blanks are, for the most part, 24 lb. Micr bond sheets with the only printing being a colored pantograph background. Paper sizes vary. Some are 8 1/2" x 11", some are 8 1/2" x 14" and a few are 8 1/2" x 7". The 8 1/2" x 14" check blanks generally have two pantograph positions and two blank positions. The 8 1/2" x 11" usually have one pantograph position and two blank positions - although occasionally they have three pantograph positions. The 8 1/2" x 7" have one pantograph position. Check blanks are printed out using special software and high end laser printers that use MICR toner. MICR toner is necessary to print the check sequential number, the bank routing number (also known as the ABA number) and the account number plus the special MICR characters like dashes, on-us and transit symbols. The MICR toner is required so that the checks can be "read" by special banking equipment. Since both the MICR toner and the laser printers that use it cost more than regular toner and standard printers, most businesses that utilize them do so because they have special applications such as multiple division accounts or large or multiple payrolls. check blanks news:The world's worst hotel guests Confirmed: Nintendo's 2010-2011 Lineup to be Totally Badass Kate Moss Doesn't Trust Men |
