spongebob checks

Cashiers Checks are typically sold by banks and other financial institutions such as credit Unions when an individual or business has a need to send or present certified funds. Some people incorrectly assume that Postal Money Orders fall into this category too but they do not. Not only are Postal Money orders often forged, they do not carry the same insurance protection as a cashiers check. A cashiers check is as good as the bank issuing it but, because it is sold to the buyer with only the face amount filled in, it is also as good as cash. If you buy one you should immediately fill in the name or company name of the person or company you will be paying it to. If you don't, and you lose it, anyone can cash your cashiers check and there is not one thing you or the bank can do about it. One interesting note about most of the cashiers checks issued by banks is that few of them are Check 21 compliant. The reason is probably that, since cashiers checks are not used as much as they used to be, banks are still using up supplies printed before the Check 21 Act was written by Congress.
