Web Designer Checks: Coming up with web designer checks was a challenge the CheckChecks.com design team accepted from a web page design company that wanted business checks to reflect what they did for their clients. The team a kicked around a lot of ideas for web designer checks. One of the first involved a custom pantograph background design of the @ sign in different sizes and fonts but after a mock up it appeared too busy. What they finally ended up with was an actual spider web background that was graphically altered in subtle ways to spell “Web Designer”. It was interesting because at first the words were not evident but after a moment they leapt out and made you wonder how you missed them at first glance. These were definitely “web designer checks” and conveyed just what the client wanted their customers to see. The kicker was a custom border around the web designer checks made by repeating the @@@@@@ sign which was borrowed from the first rejected idea.
